CK Akonnor Gets Support From Ex-Ghana Defender To Deliver On Black Stars Job
Former Ghanaian international, Kofi Amponsah is backing Coach CK Akonnor to succeed as the head coach for the Black Stars.
Coach CK Akonnor was given his appointment as the head of the technical team of the Black Stars at the beginning of the year after serving as an assistant to former Coach James Kwesi Appiah for a while.
Speaking to Ashaiman TV, Kofi Amponsah has stressed that he is confident the new Black Stars gaffer will do a good job.
“I was not surprised when he C.K Akunnor was appointed to coach the Black Stars. I remember I was once telling a friend in Tema that the job should be given to C.K, he will deliver.
“So I was not surprised at all to see him there. He has passion for the game. He has the strength, he can do the job, let’s give him time and the support”, the ex-Black Stars defender said.
Coach Akonnor is yet to play his first match as the head coach for the Black Stars but is expected to qualify the team to the next Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament as well as the World Cup.
