Head Coach for Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Maxwell Konadu has indicated that clubs will need more than a month to prepare in case the government gives the green light for the football season to resume.

The 2019/2020 Ghanaian football season was put on hold in March after the country recorded its early cases of the deadly Coronavirus (Covid-19) disease.

After 3 months, it is uncertain when the campaign will continue with the government announcing the extension on the ban on football activities last Sunday as it continues in its fight against the spread of the disease.

Speaking to Happy FM today, Kotoko Coach Maxwell Konadu has opened up about the preparations clubs will have to do should the Ghana Football Association (GFA) confirm the restart date for the season.

“We will need about six weeks to get the players back in shape. We have to train, play some friendly matches and be ready for the league”, the experienced gaffer said.

Coach Maxwell Konadu and has Porcupine Warriors have performed well this season even though supporters say they could have done better. They remain contenders for the league title as they sit 4th on the standings of the division after playing 14 games.
