Accra, Dec. 22, GNA - Thieves on Thursday broke into the car of Dr Mustapha Ahmed, National Democratic Congress Member of Parliament for Ayawaso East, at Koforidua where he is attending his Party's delegates' congress.

The thieves broke into the car through the back door and made away with his briefcase containing, money, documents, complimentary cards, diary and keys.

Speaking to the GNA by telephone from Koforidua, Dr Ahmed said when he arrived at the congress grounds; the parking lots were full so his driver parked the car at a nearby house. He said at about 1100 hours his driver informed him that thieves had broken into the car.

Dr Ahmed said some Police personnel accompanied him to the Koforidua Central Police station where he lodged a complaint. "When we went to the scene, the Police took fingerprints and pictures. A T-shaped instrument used in breaking into my car was left behind by the thieves."

According to him, a Good Samaritan found one of his complimentary cards and called him to inform him that his briefcase had been found. Dr Ahmed said when they went to the place, they found the briefcase, documents and diary, but the money had been stolen. 22 Dec. 05
