Ghanaians over the past had demonstrated the sense of oneness and affection towards one another. The 1992 constitution being the Supreme law make all persons equal before the law and does not discriminates against on grounds of gender, race, colour, ethnic origin, religion, creed or social or economic status.

On the New year’s Eve, the founder and leader of Glorious Word and Power Ministries, Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah prophesized about the death of National Chief Imam, Vice president Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and former presidents John Agyekum Kufuor and John Dramani Mahama.

The prophecy by Rev Isaac Owusu Bempah had imprisoned the mindset of the families, loved ones of the national chief Imam and the former presidents of Ghana. This could kill their creativeness, the will power to execute, shorten and imprison their mindset to accomplish what they wish to have in life. Though I had not heard from any of the former presidents, I asked myself what pain, trauma are they facing now? Are they ready to accept the outcome of the prophesy?

Most youth did not welcome the New Year’s Eve prophesy concerning the death of the leaders. They were furious and attacked the Odorkor branch of Glorious Word and Power Ministries International in Accra. They reacted base on their feelings and mindset. The lifestyle and achievements of the National Chief Imam have been factors that influence many of his followers who are Imams, Preachers, writers and Educationalists.

The National Chief Imam reacting to the prophecy called for forgiveness for Rev.Owusu Bempah and said Muslims had been living in peace with Christians and adherents of other religions and underscored the need for the different faiths to maintain that relationship. He asked the youth to leave Rev.Owusu Bempah and forgive him, saying that as for death every soul would taste it one day or another and so there was no need to attack the man.He again advised the youth not to engage in acts that would divide the country and begged them not to attack the Rev.Owusu Bempah.

Rev Dr. Opuni Frimpong had also called on church leaders and the media to put an end to the annual prophesying of the death of some leaders.

The National Chief Imam in a related development, calling for calm and asking Muslim youth to exercise restraint cannot be simply overlooked and given a deaf ear to by the people of Ghana and the world. The Imam with his powerful message had left what I will describe us ‘Sharabutu imprint of peace’. His message had sown a seed of unity, harmony, peace and development.

When such prophesy are made known to the public, are there means and ways church leaders could prevent and handle? Why should some leaders call the media and break the silence? Well, is because of fame thus why they hurry to speak with journalist or post to social media?

In this world of sin, what God dwells on is sin. Death to faith communities is not a threat .Is only God that creation is to fear and nothing else. Creation is not waiting for death to prove and manifest itself but rather waiting for the manifestation of their maker. Kingdom of God is about peace and righteousness and not about doom prophecy concerning death etc. The prophets of the land are to warn the people, leaders of their sins and not their death.
