Christians should activate their faith in  2019

Tema, Jan.1, GNA - Ghanaians, especially Christians, have been advised to activate their faith in God and his word to enable them excel in the year 2019.

Reverend Kwadwo Osei-Bonsu, Minister-in-Charge, Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Redemption Congregation at Tema Community Nine, in a sermon during a watch night service noted that "faith is the only tangible thing that will help you survive the spiritual realm in 2019".

Rev Osei-Bonsu explained that in the study of numbers, 19 signified faith therefore the need for Christians to have strong faith in God to lead them throughout the year.

He also cautioned them against doubting the word of God but rather believe in it and claim its benefits and power.

He, however, admonished them to do away with their past mistakes and past glory saying people could not move forward in life as they dwell too much on their mistakes and past glories instead of putting in efforts to do more exploits.

The Minister also advised Christians to do away with inferiority complex and not to allow their age to discourage them from perceiving their dreams and aspirations.

Rev Frank Kissi, Second Minister of the church, giving the last homily for 2018, on the theme: "The Zeal of the Lord", asked the public to allow God to lead them throughout 2019 instead of being ahead of him.

Rev Kissi indicated that everyone needed the zeal of God to see them through their difficult times in life which he termed the "valleys and dry bones of life."

The congregation, who were mostly clad in white, spent hours praying for forgiveness, the growth of the church, the nation, relatives among others.

They also broke into spontaneous jubilation, singing praise songs, dancing, waving of white handkerchiefs and congratulating each other for making it to the year 2019.
