Accra, Sept. 15, GNA - Vice President Alhaji Aliu Mahama on Thursday acclaimed the historic relations between Ghana and India, which dated back to the struggle against British colonial rule and the technical support the Asian country continues to provide to Ghana. "A lot has come from India," he said, during a meeting with the India High Commissioner, Mr Rajesh Prasad at the Osu Castle. He expressed gratitude for the 60 million-dollar concessionary loan India provided Ghana for the renovation of a presidential lodge and rural electrification projects.

"We have to learn from the economic strides India is making," he said.

Mr Prasad said the two countries were engaged in the struggle against poverty and under-development. He explained that 30 million dollars of the loan was meant for the rural electrification project whilst the remaining was to be invested in the renovation of the presidential lodge.
