Ghanaian Association of Rockland County, NY. Holds End of Year Dinner Dance"

The Ghanaian Association of Rockland County closed out the year amidst pomp and pageantry at its Annual End of year Dinner Dance Party on December 29, 2017 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Suffern, New York.

The President of the Association, Emmanuel Bioh outlined the Vision and Mission of the Organization and indicated the importance for a membership drive to grow the Organization. He said there was need for Ghanaians everywhere to organize because there is strength in unity. He said programs must be established to improve the lot of our lives here as well as families at home and not to neglect business opportunities Ghana presents.

The rest of the Executive Members are Samuel Plange-Vice president, Maxwell Oppong-Secretary General, Paul Amankwa- Public Relations Officer, Eunice Adomako-Treasure, Priscilla Amankwa- Event Coordinator, William Adjetey-Executive member and Kwaku Duah- Executive member.

The Executive Council outlined a plan to institute a Scholarship Fund for College bound students of Member Families.

The Guest of Honor, Dr. Kwame Aniapam Boafo said he was extremely pleased that Ghanaians in the Rockland Diaspora have been able to organize and indicated his desire to help in any way he could. He congratulated the Organization and asked them not to lose sight of the need for educational, health, socio-cultural programs to improve our lot here as well as extending same to our families in Ghana. He said the recent ROPA ruling must energize us to participate to collectively grow Ghana

The prices of the Raffle that was organized included valuable prizes such as an expensive Apple iPad Pro 12.9 inches, 256 GB with Wi-Fi and Cellular data.

The event was well organized and well attended. The food was excellent and the music infectious with members dancing all night
