“It all started with Barbie”. At the age of six, fashion designer, Baaba Christian was using scraps of fabric to create and design garments for her Barbie dolls. After earning a degree in Fashion Merchandising she equipped herself with another degree in Marketing.

A daughter of a diplomat, Baaba was fortunate enough to live amongst a variety of cultures. “Experiencing these different cultures enhanced my love for fashion.” She says!

Baaba is the CEO of Bchris Couture. https://www.bchriscouture.com/about-us.html Her fashion house produces custom patterns infused with African essence. Her designs have been worn or featured by Yandy Smith (love and hip hop) and Azy Banks (International Model).

Popular magazines like New York fashion week, Ankara Miami and others such as Face2Face Africa, Dopefiles, and Preppstar Dreamin spotlighted her work.

In addition to appearing at numerous university fashion shows; She gives back by teaching fashion design to middle school and high school students.

She hopes her designs will tell her story one day and she believes giving back and sharing her gift with others is her contribution to humanity.
