Infinix Cautions Against Fake Brands

The leading mobile phone producer, Infinix has pressed the alarm button over fake infinix products and accessories cited on the Ghanaian market.

Information picked up by the team reveals that some unscrupulous individuals are riding on the back of the famous infinix brand with all kinds of fake mobile devices to dup customers of their monies.

Results, after a close market surveillance revealed that these fake brands which looks very similar to the authentic ones includes devices such as infinix NOTE 1,2 and 3, HOT 3 and 4, HOT 3, ZERO 3 as well as the latest NOTE 3 which have all been faked and dumped on the market.

In view of this phenomenon, Infinix Ghana has issued a safety buying tips to save customers from falling into such temptation of being tricked into purchasing fake infinix products which is currently been flooded on the market.

The Country Manager of Infinix, Kinmo.cai, told our reporter that customers can the verify the authenticity of infinix mobile brands by checking the International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) number on the back of the phone or scripted on the phone box.

According to him, the IMEI is a 15- or 17-digit code that uniquely allows customers to identify mobile phone sets.

He added that customers should enter the IMEI numbers into the search box on another phone and press enter to display the name and type of phone and all other related information to confirm its authenticity.

Kinmo.cai noted that some of the fake products appear with a slight change in colour and a different position for Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card slots.

He urged customers to visits accredited sales dealers at circle opposite Odo Rice Restaurant, Odorkor after the traffic light in the same building with Trust in God Restaurant and Accra Central SIC Mall behind the Barclays Bank near Rawlings Park.

Kinmo.cai intimated that customers can also visit MTN offices (izone) or Jumia for online purchases.
