Solomon Nkansah, NDC Communications Director, who disclosed this during a press conference on Wednesday, stated that all the four affected aspirants willingly accepted their fate.

He announced that the results of three constituencies in the region- Subin, Suame and Asante Akim North, had been put on hold, noting that the vetting committee must do further checks at these places.

Mr Nkansah announced that in all, 97 members, including 14 women filed nominations to contest in 47 constituencies in the Ashanti region, adding that all the 14 women were successfully cleared by the vetting committee.

He noted that all the sitting MPs in the party in the region met the criteria so they went through unopposed, indicating that the vetting process had been successful during the two-day period.

He stated that the NDC is poised to meet its target of securing 1 million votes in the Ashanti region in 2016, adding that the NDC would make significant progress in the region during the next polls.

According to him, the Mahama-led NDC government had embarked on significant projects in the Ashanti region to improve the lives of the people, saying the NDC would rely on its splendid work to secure 1 million votes in the region.
