MY DEAR POLITICIANS, YOU DON’T OWN GHANA

With due respect to the likes of the late Prof. John Evans Atta Mills, Pof. Kwabena Frimpong Boateng, Prof. Christopher Ameyaw Akumfi, Prof. Gyan Baffour, Prof. Mike Oquaye, Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku, Dr. Kwabena Agyei, Dr. Anthony Akoto Osei, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, Dr. Kwame Addo Kuffour, Dr. Michael Abu Sakara, Dr. Papa Kwasi Nduom and a few others; how many politicians in the country do have Masters Degree? Not to talk of Ph. D. Yet, they are the very few people who are disturbing us in the country. They go ahead to decide for the masses, be it good or bad, in the name of democracy. No wonder we've never tasted good life in the country.

Some even had their appointment as ministers, right after their University education. What experience do such people have? I am asking! What do they know? They never tasted hardship. Can such people feel for the poor? Let's all think about that.

I understand when it is time for them (politicians) to discuss issues that have to do with their money, as in salaries and allowances; they close all doors at the media and the general public. They pay themselves with huge amounts and enjoy the very best of lives. Can someone tell me why Samia Yaba Nkrumah lost her seat? One party says it doesn't recognize the president yet they take their fat salaries at the end of each month and claim anything monetary due them.

By my knowledge and understanding, many of the riots that happen in other countries come as a result of political unrest. I want to tell my dear politicians in the country that they don't own Ghana so they should let us be! They should give us a break! They call themselves honourable leaders, yet they are responsible for most of the riots, insults and heckling on the various radio and television stations in the country. Are they really honourable leaders as they claim?

Why must we ignore the truth in the name of politics? I would like to reiterate “that political leaders in the country never put Ghana first. They are only in business because of their belly, their family members and the few people around them”.

Most Members of Parliament have rented their own houses to the government. I will come later on with a proof. Yes! That is what they are doing. For the sake of peace and tranquility, stop being at each other's neck and walk on the path of truth if you're really in for the betterment of mother Ghana. Many politicians are greedy bastards just as former president Rawlings put it. Honestly speaking, until I see politicians are telling us the truth, I will continue to curse all the bad ones till they are all out of the system.

I hear some of the retiring ones never took their salaries when they were so active. They lived in their own houses to pursue government business, yet they never took any money from the government in the name of rent. Others too never took any Per Diem when they traveled for government business. Others build bridges which are supposed to be built by government with their own money. They go ahead to purchase generators for hospitals, in the name of charity. Don't they deserve a commendation?

There exist some other ones too who have taken huge sums of money from some Chinese and have signed permits for them to mine gold and destroy all the water bodies which serves as a source of drinking water for the good people of Ghana. Others are the sole distributors for all the building materials that are used in the construction of the Bui Dam. Will God bless such politicians?

Let's all agree with the late Joseph Hills (Culture Cumbolo) and drive them away when they come to talk about politics. I would like to borrow this phrase from Mr. Tsatsu Chikata; “God is watching all of us”. Judgement awaits us all.
