Sunyani, Aug 3, GNA – The chiefs and people of Tain District on Friday sent a message of condolence to Ghanaians and the bereaved family of President John Evans Atta Mills.

A press statement signed by Nana Kwaku Dwuma Ankoana II, Paramount Chief of Seikwa Traditional Area, said they received the news of President Mills' death with shock and deep sorrow.

The statement expressed their deepest sympathy to the bereaved family, especially the late President's widow, Mrs. Ernestina Naadu Mills for the irreplaceable loss of her husband.

“The Chiefs and People of Tain are most aggrieved because of the love and commitment that Prof. Mills showed to us,” it said.

The statement noted that the late President proved his affection and support for the people in Tain by initiating developmental projects that were evenly distributed throughout the Traditional Areas of Seikwa, Nsawkaw, Badu and Debibi in the District.

It expressed the hope that with divine wisdom and guidance, President John Dramani Mahama would emulate Prof. Mills to execute the work that the late President had left behind for progress of the country.
