The Sefwi Wiawso NDC constituency has disqualified a parliamentary aspirant, Thomas Armah, for presenting his wife's party I/D card as identification during committee vetting.
According to the youth organiser, Kwaku Saibu, the committee decided to disqualify Thomas Armah because he failed to convince them he was a loyal party member by presenting his wife's ID card.
He told Adom News that Thomas Armah told them that he had lost his party membership card, a situation he said, forced him to present his wife's card.
Disqualified Thomas Armah confirmed that he used his wife (Mrs Monica Aba Mintah's) party card as identification during the vetting process.
He explained that the party officials had not issued new party cards for the past four years.
According to him, some of the committee members had given him the green light to use it.
Thomas Armah however said he suspected some party officials were behind his disqualification.
He stated that a lot of the members had labeled him potential threat to the rest of the aspirants.
Thomas Armah stated that he has petitioned the constituency executives to review his disqualification.
