BANKROLLER OF former premiership club Kessben FC, Kwabena Kesse, has not left the football business entirely as most soccer fans might think.

Mr. Kesse's name has not been associated much with football ever since Medeama purchased Kessben FC. But the former Kumasi Asante Kotoko Director, whose passion for the game knows no bound, has resurfaced in football.

This time around, Mr. Kesse has decided to target young talents to enrich the local football.

In line with this great vision, Mr. Kesse, who runs a chain of businesses in the Garden City, has started a football academy in the area.

Justifiers to select brilliant young footballers to form the nucleus of the academy started on Tuesday.

Players below 19 years, selected from every part of the country, stormed the Ridge Park in Kumasi in large numbers, hoping to catch the eyes of technical selectors.

Justifiers to select players to form the Under-17 team would be held at the same venue on March 17, Fred Acheampong aka 'Ache', Administrator for the academy, told DAILY GUIDE SPORTS.

According to Ache, 50 lucky players would be picked to start the under-19 and under-17 teams.

He said the players would be camped at a hostel at Abrankese, noting, the players would train at the Anane Boateng stadium at Abrankese built by Mr. Kesse.

Ache, who is an ace sports journalist in Kumasi, said former Ghana and Kotoko goal poacher Prince Polley, is in charge of the technical area of the academy.
