KESSBEN FC fans across the country got a rude shock on Friday morning following the depressing news of the sale of their beloved club.

Owner and bankroller of Kessben FC, Kwabena Kesse announced that he has sold the premier club to Medeamma FC owner but he declined to state the exact cost involved.

However, speculations were rife that the Kumasi-based club was sold for a whopping $600,000.

Kessben FC joined the premiership three seasons ago and have since proven to be worthy competitors at the highest level of Ghana soccer; therefore the sale comes as a great blow to fans of the club.

Mr. Kesse said he took the decision to sell the club to enable him champion his original vision of contributing to the development of youth football.

According to him, the club has paid its dues at the highest level so far “and I think it is time we moved back to our roots- that is the development of youth football where we came from all the way to the premiership”.

The Kessben FC owner debunked speculations that the club was cash-strapped; stressing his decision to sell the club has nothing to do with monetary matters.

Since joining the premiership, Kessben FC has chalked incredible landmarks, prominent among which is the building of an ultra-modern stadium at Abrankese, christened the Anane Boateng Stadium.

DAILY GUIDE SPORTS gathered that Medeamma FC could use the stadium as their home grounds at least for the new season if they so wish, as Kessben FC officials have given them the green light.

The paper also learnt the huge investment that Mr. Kesse made in the Anane Boateng Stadium would not go waste, as Kessben FC would rely on it for its youth soccer development agenda which would be rolled out very soon. From I.F. Joe Awuah Jnr., Kumasi
