Asikuma District to award 64 best teachers

Breman Asikuma (C/R) July 28, GNA- The Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa District Directorate of the Ghana Education Service (GES), is to honour 64 teaching and non-teaching staff of the service for their hard work and dedication to duty.

Mrs Felicia Opokuah Mallet, District Director of the GES, made this known when she received a Cheque for GH¢6,000, from the district assembly towards the Best Teacher Awards Day.

Mrs Mallet expressed her gratitude to the assembly for supporting the ceremony, which she said would help promote quality education in the area.

The district Chief Executive, Madam Georgina Nkrumah Aboah who presented the Cheque on behalf of the assembly, expressed the hope that the awards ceremony would motivate the teachers and staffs to continue to work hard to improve education in the district.

Meanwhile five companies have presented various cheques to support the occasion.

They include Ghana Cocoa Board, Inter Continental Bank, Ghana Port Authority, Social Security National Insurance Trust and Ghana Commercial Bank.

The Brakwa-Breman Rural Bank also donated a table-top refrigerator towards the ceremony that would take place on Wednesday, July 29.

Mrs Mallet thanked the donors for the kind gesture and urged to them to continue to contribute towards future celebrations. .
