Women have appealed to the leadership of political parties to educate their supporters on the need to observe peace and tranquillity before, during and after the December polls.

The Chairperson of the “Biakoye Ladies Club” at Begoro, Madam Monica Sakyi, made the appeal at the inauguration of the club at Begoro on Wednesday.

Madam Sakyi said the club was aimed at assisting unemployed women to have vocation, give charity to disabled persons and also assist to control streetism among others.

She deplored indecent dressing by young girls and said it could attract rapists.

Madam Sakyi appealed to the government to enact bye-laws to prosecute men who impregnate women and abandon them to become single parents.

She said the practice had engendered social vices like pilfering, premarital sex, armed robbery and drug abuse among the youth.

The National Organizer of the Civic Union of Ghana, Mr Kwame Amfo Antri, appealed to women to engage in viable and profitable ventures to support their husbands in the home.

He urged them to give priority to the education of their children at the expense of fan fare and funerals.

She asked the club members to co-operate with other development partners to educate the public to keep proper sanitation for a healthy living.
