The Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Employment Authority (YEA), Malik Basintale, has paid a courtesy call on the Sunyanimanhene, Odeefour Ogyeamansan Boahen Korkor II, at his palace in Sunyani.
Mr. Basintale was accompanied by the Deputy CEO in charge of Operations, Abubakari Saana Abdul Kudas, and other national and regional officials of the Authority.
Welcoming the delegation, the Sunyanimanhene commended the CEO for his dedication and urged him and his team to intensify efforts to create jobs for Ghanaian youth.
He noted that increased employment opportunities would help reduce youth migration abroad, where some have faced challenges, including xenophobic attacks.
Recognition
The Omanhene also advised the CEO to remain non-partisan and serve all young people equally, while calling on YEA staff to support his leadership and pledged his full support and encouraged Mr. Basintale to remain committed to his mandate.
In recognition of his visit, the Sunyanimanhene presented the CEO with kente cloth and traditional sandals (Ahenema) and conferred on him the title “Mmrateɛhene” (Youth Chief) of Sunyani.
Mr. Basintale expressed gratitude for the honour and pledged to work diligently in line with the counsel received.
