Vice President and New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has reacted to former President John Dramani Mahama's alleged attacks on state institutions, religious leaders, and the ruling government.
Mahama described the Military, Chiefs, Imams, Pastors, and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) as hypocrites for supporting the NPP despite the mess it has created.
During a rally in Amasaman, Dr. Bawumia criticised Mahama for resorting to insults, arguing that the former President's frustration stems from someone who is already sending defeat ahead of 2024 election.
He stressed that Mahama's lack of campaign ideas is causing his fraustration.
"You all know that this election is between me and former President Mahama. But he has realised he will lose massively, so he gets upset at every little thing," Bawumia said.
He added, "Today, he has insulted pastors, Imams, Chiefs, and CSOs, calling them hypocrites. Is this how a former President should speak?"
Dr. Bawumia pointed out that Mahama even insulted the Electoral Commission and labelled the NPP government as "foolish," adding, "How can such indecent comments come from a former President?"
He mentioned the accomplishments of the NPP government, listing achievements in various sectors, including job creation, infrastructure, and healthcare.
"If you believe in what you did as a former President, come and let us debate one-on-one. But he is afraid and running away because he knows I speak with data," Bawumia concluded.

A leader with decorum and not one who starts insulting at the least provocation. That is what happens when someone loses an argument . The man is pathetic and this is the person who wants to become president. His behaviour is shocking and unforgivable
