The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has emphasized the importance of women's inclusion in politics and other spheres of life.

The revered Overlord of the Asante Kingdom highlighted the significance of integrating women into the nation's development efforts, citing their demonstrated patriotism and dedication to the country whenever given the opportunity.

Speaking during a durbar held to honor women at the Manhyia Palace in the Ashanti Region on Monday, April 22, 2024, Otumfuo underscored the need for women to contribute meaningfully to nation-building.

The event, which was part of the 25th-anniversary celebrations of the Asantehene's reign, brought together all queen mothers from the Asante Kingdom at the Manhyia Palace to showcase various local cuisines.

Monday, April 22, was designated as the day for queen mothers from different Asante paramountcies to display the rich culinary heritage of the Asante people. From the famous Fufu to lesser-known delicacies like "Akau" and "Mampong at3ky3," the queen mothers and their communities presented a diverse array of local foods from across the Asante kingdom.

While commending Asante Queens and women for their significant contributions to Ghana's development, Otumfuo emphasized the importance of gender equality and the empowerment of women in Ghanaian politics.
