The Progressive Youth Democrats (PYD) expresses deep concern over the ongoing issue of intermittent power supply, commonly referred to as 'Dumsor,' in Ghana. For far too long, Ghanaians have endured the inconvenience and adverse impacts of unreliable electricity supply, affecting businesses, livelihoods, and daily life.
Despite repeated assurances from the government led by President Nana Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the persistence of intermittent power supply indicates a lack of effective action and urgency in resolving this critical issue. The apparent indifference to the suffering of citizens is unacceptable and reflects poorly on the commitment to prioritize the welfare of the people.
Access to stable electricity is not just a luxury but a fundamental necessity for economic growth, social development, and individual well-being. The prolonged existence of fluctuating power supply undermines progress and prosperity for all Ghanaians.
Therefore, on behalf of the Progressive Youth Democrats, we demand immediate and concerted efforts from the government to address the challenges of intermittent power supply and restore reliable electricity across the country. This includes transparent communication, concrete action plans, and accountability measures to ensure sustainable solutions are implemented without delay.
We call upon President Nana Akufo-Addo, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and relevant stakeholders to prioritize the concerns of the Ghanaian people and demonstrate genuine leadership in resolving the challenges of fluctuating power supply. Swift and decisive action is imperative to alleviate the hardships faced by citizens and propel Ghana towards a brighter and more prosperous future.
The Progressive Youth Democrats remain committed to advocating for the interests of the youth and all citizens affected by the challenges of intermittent power supply. We stand united in our demand for swift attention and resolution to this pressing matter.
