VFS Global poised to enhance visa application experience

VFS Global, a leading provider of visa application services, reaffirms its dedication to continuous engagement in developing innovative solutions to enhance the overall visa application experience.

Speaking to some selected media in Accra on the 2023 travel trends and expectations for the upcoming peak season in Accra, Mr. Hariprasad Viswanathan, Head of Sub-Saharan Africa at VFS Global, emphasized the importance of providing applicants with regular updates on visa processing timelines, data protection, fraud detection, and the organization's value-added services through key touchpoints.

Mr. Viswanathan advised applicants to ensure they carry all requisite documentation, including a printout of the checklist, when submitting their applications. He also encouraged applicants to check the VFS Global website for important requirements before planning to apply.

Highlighting the surge in global outbound travel in 2023, Mr. Viswanathan noted a significant rise in visa application volumes at VFS Global in Ghana, nearly doubling on a year-on-year basis. He mentioned a 30% increase in applications processed at the Ghana Passport Premium Application Centers run by VFS Global, indicating a strong desire for overseas travel among Ghanaian residents.

Anticipating a continuation of increased international travel in 2024, Mr. Viswanathan emphasized the importance of applying for visas early due to limited appointment slots and rising demand.

Discussing future trends, Mr. Viswanathan highlighted the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence, machine learning, and data analytics in border management, paving the way for Smart Borders in the future. He also noted the growing demand for contactless and Do it Yourself technologies in response to the need for safe travel.

Regarding eco-conscious travelers, Mr. Viswanathan emphasized the shift towards sustainable travel experiences and the emergence of personalized services such as E-Visa, which allows travelers to apply for visas from anywhere using secure and smart solutions developed by VFS Global.

Madam Cleopatra Avenorgbo, Deputy General Manager-Operations for VFS Global-Ghana, announced a collaboration between the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), Bridge Direct, and VFS Global to enhance service delivery experience with Premium DVLA Centers. These services include driver's license renewal, replacement, upgrading, and vehicle registration.

She also mentioned VFS Global's contract to open new passport Application Centers across Ghana, currently operating in Accra, Kumasi, and Tamale.
