Following President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo's recent ministerial reshuffle, Dr. Benjamin Otchere-Ankrah, a lecturer at Central University, has offered advice to the newly appointed ministers, urging them to selflessly serve and strive to leave a positive legacy during their tenure.

The reshuffle, announced on Wednesday, February 14, saw the removal of Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta and Health Minister Kwaku Agyemang Manu. Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam and Dr. Bernard Okoe-Boye have been appointed to the Finance and Health Ministries respectively.

Other changes include the reassignment of the Minister for Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, to the Works and Housing Ministry, with his deputy, Fatimatu Abubakar taking over.

Lydia Alhassan is appointed to the Sanitation and Water Resources Ministry, Andrew Egyapa Mercer to Tourism, and Henry Quartey, the Greater Accra Regional Minister, re-assigned to the Interior Ministry, among other adjustments.

During an interview on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" morning show, Dr. Otchere-Ankrah urged the newly appointed ministers to live up to expectations.

He emphasized the importance of collaboration with the people and striving to make a positive impact on their lives.

"You have to live up to expectations and sometimes even beyond the expectation...It's not what you do to the people [but] what you do with the people and for the people," he emphasized.

Expressing confidence in the capabilities of the new ministers, Dr. Otchere-Ankrah stated, "I am confident that these new ministers will work to leave a legacy. Some of them will do well," citing individuals like Andrew Egyapa Mercer and Kojo Oppong Nkrumah as examples of those he believes will excel in their respective roles.
