Samuel Koku Anyidoho, CEO of the Atta Mills Institute, has criticized National Democratic Congress (NDC) Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketiah over his call for youth to join today's protest in Accra.

Asiedu Nketiah had called on the youth to join the #OccupyBoG protest in large numbers, stating "this demonstration is for the youth because it is the future that is being mortgaged."

However, Koku Anyidoho criticised his statement for inciting the youth to stage what he perceived as a coup against the government.

In a tweet on Tuesday, October 3, he reacted to Asiedu Nketiah's comment: "He is calling for the youth to stage a coup. Where are his children?"

In response to the growing discontent, a large number of demonstrators have taken to the streets of Accra, demanding the removal of Dr. Ernest Addison from his position as Governor.

However, tensions between the protestors and the police have risen due to disagreements over the approved demonstration routes.

The protestors allegedly marched to unapproved routes, disregarding prior police authorization.

However, Minority Leader Cassiel Ato Forson who led the protest with other leading members has asserted that they will not disperse until they are granted the opportunity to present their petition directly to the Governor.
