Attaining Academic Excellence

Educational institutions are set up to train students to become responsible citizens in the future and serve as the manpower of the nation and occupy positions that will be left vacant by the elderly. Academic excellence is not on a silver platter but through hard work. This means education is not only the way to success but without it, one cannot fully be functional. Several factors account for the academic excellence in my school.

Discipline is one of the major factors that promote academic excellence in my school. Most of the students in this school are disciplined to the extent that, is reflected in both their internal and external examinations. In our previous years, most of the past students performed very well in their WASSCE which has transposed the school from category C to A. This is wonderful, moving from school from category C to A. This is wonderful, moving from category C to A was through hard work and discipline. Therefore, for a school to achieve academic excellence, there must be frantic efforts by the institution to uphold discipline on all fronts.

Again, well-trained and qualified teachers played a major role in achieving academic excellence in my school. The teachers of this proud institution were committed to their jobs, they taught us whatever they knew and at times gave students assets to learn. They devoted most of their time to the students leading to success in their past WASSCE. So, the Ministry of Education, the Ghana Education Service, and other related agencies must ensure that they recruit qualified and well-trained personnel to teach in schools to ensure that academic excellence is promoted and sustained.

To add to the above, most of the parents played the best roles by being responsible enough and caring for the education of their wards. They contributed by giving us advice, investing in our education (students), and also praying for each of us. Which is taking us from higher places to higher levels and making both students happy and the school also great.

Last but not the least, to ensure that academic excellence is promoted and sustained, students or learners at the center of attention are committed, disciplined, and above all hardworking. Many students have this mindset that they are in school because their parents brought them to study, so most of them are living their lives miserably but after they had been counseled and accessed themselves, they knew they could do something meaningful. So they took their studies seriously and passed with flying colors. Therefore, in other to promote and sustained academic excellence, learners or students must be counseled and guided toward their bright future.

I am of the view that self-discipline, self-criticism, and personal information can help promote academic excellence in this prestigious school.
