"For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love," says the bible. This biblical verse states expressly, how God expects us to treat the sacrifices of people in our lives.

Taking inspiration from this scripture, therefore, I deem it prudent to urge the good people of Awutu Senya West Constituency to treat the sacrifices of the Director of Communications at the Presidency, Mr Eugene Arhin, in the same manner they would like God to treat theirs.

Mr Arhin has indeed laboured in love in his bid to impact the lives of the Awutu Senya West Constituents. No single individual has touched lives with their resources in the manner that Mr Arhin has done for his people.

For the first time in the history of the Guan speaking people, the selfless, kind hearted Eugene Arhin raised funds to build a school for the children of Obodakaba in the constituency. What makes this kind gesture very touching and worthy of commendation is not the cost of the three-unit classroom block but what moved him to build it.

The strong but compassionate Eugene Arhin couldn't retrain himself when he beheld the sight of children walking a long distance to another village to attend school.

Upon enquiries, he established that most of the children stayed out of the classroom because their parents could not guarantee their safety as they embark on a routine journey for school daily. Also, those who jeopardized their lives could only do so after they had grown enough to travel on foot to the nearest village which is over two kilometers from their homes.

The children of this village no longer endanger their lives to travel on foot to other villages for their basic education because a compassionate son of the land sacrificed for their safety. This act of compassion by Mr Arhin has also increased the enrollment of school children in Obodakaba.

Beyond this life touching project, Mr Arhin has also built a Community Library and ICT Centre at Awutu Beraku, the district capital. This project seeks to promote the culture of reading and research among pupils and students in the constituency as well as equip them with basic computer knowledge and skills. These are but a few of the projects he has introduced through his personal efforts as a private citizen.

On the premise that no human would want the Lord to forget their work and laour of love, I deem it prudent to urge the people of Awutu Senya West to also ensure that Mr Arhin does not suffer in vain.
