Getting Ghana to the promised land of prosperity is the object

The teaming unemployed youth of the country should be angry with the supporters of Mr Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen for claiming it is his turn to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and later govern the country.

This position makes the NPP repulsive to the "Pauls" in the party and those nursing the idea of joining it to enable them contribute their quota to the development of the nation and must therefore not be countenanced.

That said, it must be made known to the singers of this uninspiring, politically suicidal anthem that, it is not about turns. It is rather about leading Ghana to the promised land of prosperity, where more opportunities can be created for the hard working Ghanaian youth to take advantage of.

Dr Bawumia has demonstrated through character, commitment and competence that he is capable of leading Ghana to the promised land. He meant it when he recently posted the flags of Ghana and the NPP on his Facebook page with the caption, "It is possible."

Talking about the character of the Veep, it can be said that he is one of the few politicians whose own character has defended him against the propaganda machinery of his main political opponents, the members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

This is a man who worked with the Bank of Ghana and rose through the ranks to the high position of a Deputy Governor yet nobody has been able to successfully identify him with a single scandal, not even a rumour of malfeasance.

He has been a Vice President for Six years and yet nobody can link him to a single scandal. The attempt by Anas Aremeyaw Anas to drag Dr Bawumia's name to the mud in his "Galamsey Economy" investigate piece fell down flat. This is indeed a leader of good character!

Every Vice President is normally given a special role to play. In the case of Dr Bawumia, his boss assigned him to digitalised the economy, a duty he discharged with excellence. This, coupled with his achievements at the Bank of Ghana define his competence.

The commitment of the Veep to the NPP and the country's development is evidenced in the footprints he has created and is still creating since he accepted to be President Akufo-Addo's running mate and later the Vice President of the nation.

With his digitalisation agenda, the economist, academic and politician, has laid the foundation Ghana needs to get to the promised land of prosperity. All that is left now is to give him the opportunity to utilize this very platform for its intended purpose.

The digitalisation of the economy is the best weapon against corruption, a demon that has been maximised by politicians and public servants for years to deny the poor Ghanaian masses their fair share of the national cake. Pulse a minute and reflect on the huge sums of money that leak into the private pockets of politicians and public servants through corrupt practices! This is what Dr Bawumia seeks to end.

Under his watch as the President of the nation, he has no excuse but to make good use of the digitalised platform he has created and trust him for that.

It is indeed not about turns but about getting the nation to the promised land of prosperity.
