You are dispensable

You are dispensable
01.02.2023 LISTEN

One of the greatest achievements to attain is to leave a good legacy. To agree with this statement is to accept that you’ll not always be at where you are currently. You started from somewhere and has come this far. You took over from other people just as other people will take over from you. When you are no longer in active service or playing your current role, what will you be remembered for? Never think off yourself as indispensable as Charles De Gaulle once said, “the graveyards are full of indispensable men.”

You are dispensable. It is for this reason Richard E. Byrd opined that “a man doesn’t begin to attain wisdom until he recognizes he is no longer indispensable.” All shall pass and you are not an exception. Whilst you occupy the position or office, what will you be remembered for? Are you a blessing or a lesson? What is your relationship with others like? It is great to recognize that all blessings comes from God through men. You can therefore not have problems with men and not have problems with the blessings you are supposed to enjoy. Think! It might not always be your season.

Everything that has a beginning has an end. You are dispensable. Whatever you were not born with might not stay with you forever --- the riches, fame, titles, position, etc. Time! It’s just a matter of time. When the tables turn will you say sorry or don’t worry? You might be powerful today but don’t overrate yourself. Yes, you come from a powerful and an influential home. You belong to a secret society. You have the connections. However, it is worth noting that there were people who were far more connected and spiritually inclined than you are yet have passed on. The world once existed with them, and without them the world still exists.

You are dispensable. With or without you, life goes on. “Only useless things are indispensable” as opined by Francis Picabia. So anytime you think of yourself as indispensable, ask yourself, are you useless? What matters is the love you share, the people you inspire, the institutions you build, the lives you transform. Be a vital part of the success story. Pat Riley once said, “being part of a success is more important than being personally indispensable.” Together, let’s change the world and make life worth living.

It is possible.
