Decentralized departments of the Atebubu-Amantin Municipal Assembly have been taken through guidelines for the preparation of their 2022-2025 budgets.

The municipal budget analyst Mr. Festus Bukroh who led the interaction urged participants to take note of the policy direction of government, instructions on the processes and procedures as well as budget expenditure ceilings as provided in the guidelines.

He took the meeting through the legal and regulatory framework of the Ghana Public Financial Management System, budgeting for both revenue and expenditure as well as the Ghana Integrated Financial Management Information System.

The budget analyst also touched on processes such as the regional budget hearings, approval by the general assembly of the Atebubu-Amantin municipal assembly and submission to the ministry of finance through the regional coordinating council.

He urges the affected departments to as a matter of urgency prepare their draft budgets within the ceilings provided by the guidelines for the consideration of the municipal budget committee in order to meet required deadlines.

Representatives of the Ghana Education Service, Department of Agriculture, the Physical Planning Department, Department of Urban Roads, Department of Social Welfare and Community Development took the opportunity to seek clarification to some issues bothering them.

Others were the Business Advisory Centre, Ghana Health Service and Ghana Statistical Service.

Present was the Acting Municipal Coordinating Director Mr. Braimah Sakuru.
