Former Minister for Agriculture, Hon. Alhaji Limuna Muniru has vowed never to contest parliamentary elections in the Damongo constituency of the Savannah Region.

He disclosed this when honored an invitation from a youth group calling itself Friends of Alhaji Muniru (FOAM) to cut a cake in commemoration of his 54th birthday at Bususu in the West Gonja municipality.

He further revealed that he initially declined to honor the invitation because of the political peculiarity of the constituency but rescind his decision to appease the youth of the community.

"Never again will I contest parliamentary elections in this constituency but let me assure you that am ready any day, anytime to support any candidate that will represent the NDC in the next elections. Am also ready to contribute my quota to recapture our lost parliamentary seats in the region," he stated.

He was presented with a Gonja smock and citation to mark his birthday.

He thanked the youth for their continued support and pledged to upheld the bond that exist between them.

Present at Busunu to grace the birthday celebration included high profile persons such as the former president of the Ghana Football Association, Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi, former District Chief Executives for Damongo, Yendi and Gusheigu including constituency and regional executives of the NDC.
