Follow Edgar Davids playing street soccer through Africa on YouTube

Five years ago, Edgar Davids gathered a talented group of Dutch street soccer players and travelled across Europe, the US and Latin America, to take on the best local teams, on their own streets. After numerous matches in 5 countries, Edgar and his boys were victorious over their many challengers and claimed the title The Street Legends! And that journey became known as The Legends Tour.

In 2010, Edgar Davids and his Street Legends will hit the asphalt again to see if they still are worthy of the title.

This time around they're going from Amsterdam, to London, Paris, then into Senegal, Kenya, Ghana and finally they will end up in the bustling townships of Johannesburg and Cape Town in South Africa where the best local street match players from their respective countries will attempt to de-throne The Street Legends and Davids, known as 'Mayor of the Streets' amongst the street soccer community. As they traverse the globe Edgar will encounter some of his famous football friends like Ryan Babel, Michael Essien, Marcel Desailly.

As the tour moves closer to the host nation of the World Cup 2010, this sequel to the original Legends Tour won't just be about high-octane street match battles. The Street Legends and Edgar will also embark on a personal voyage of discovery - understanding how (street) soccer influences and thrives in the the hearts and lives of Europeans and Africans every day, especially the youngsters whose passion for the game is boundless. Along the way, Edgar will also visit social grassroots projects across Africa that are providing healthcare, education and hope to thousands of men and women, boys and girls.

'Football Fever: The Return of the Street Legends' kicked off on 18 May 2010 in the birthplace of street soccer, Amsterdam, The Netherlands. People globally will be able to experience and enjoy all the adrenaline-drenched action, discover the varied landscapes, cultures and lives, and witness how soccer, and especially street soccer is truly a universal language. They can follow all this on a dedicated Street Soccer Channel which will be launched on You Tube where it will be shared in high-quality digital broadcasts, as the tour proceeds! www.youtube.com/streetsoccertour
