Avoid Politics Of Insults Ahead Of NPP Primaries--Gender Minister Appeals

In the wake of the NPP Parliamentary Primaries, Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Hon. Cynthia Mamle Morrison has cautioned party supporters against the politics of insult.

According to the Minister who is also the Member of Parliament for Agona West, the contest was a family affair which ought to be done in a lovely manner devoid of insult and personality attacks

"Every NPP member should have in mind that whoever emerged victorious in the primaries will represent the party in the December 2020 General Elections.

So we should be mindful of our choice of words as we campaign for our favorite candidates"

Hon. Cynthia Mamle Morrison stated these when she submitted her nomination forms to seek Re-election as Member of Parliament for Agona West Constituency at Agona Swedru last Friday

"This is a family contest and therefore should not be done in a 'Do or Die' manner.

Our common enemy is poverty and unemployment. We should all fight together to eradicate poverty from the system.

His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo led NPP government has performed better and we must support him for another Four More Years to Do More

I will be coming to you to seek re-election, as Kingmakers, I know the confidence you imposed on me will be manifested in the Primaries for Cynthia Morrison to go for another Four More Years and even beyond"

The Agona West NPP Constituency Secretary, Hon. George Prince Koranteng who received the forms on behalf of the party urged candidates who will be contesting the primaries and supporters to be circumspect in their campaigns adding the contest was an internal affair.

"There is no enemy among any of the candidates who will be contesting the primaries

We are going to elect someone to represent NPP in Parliament, let us in one Accord work in harmony to get the best candidate to win the Agona West Parliamentary Seat for NPP, that is out ultimate goal"

The Constituency Secretary noted that Hon. Cynthia Morrison and Mr. Onoma Coleman are the only known people who have picked their forms with Hon. Cynthia Morrison submitting hers with banker's draft payment to that effect.
