President Nana Akufo- Addo

Reshuffling his government for the first time, President Nana Akufo-Addo has made some15 changes within his governance and administration of Ghana as a nation.

Many a people who know a thing or two, thought many heads were going to roll with regards to how they have gone about their designated duties.

But as it were, some are luck to stay in their various offices to continue whatever they deem fit.

Now the president should rather turn his attention to the United Kingdom to quell the rot in the Ghana Embassy.

This is because, the echoes of President Nana Akufo-Addo's reshuffle should cut across all boards wherever you are and whoever you think you are.

By so doing, the reshuffle will have a rippling effect on those who are not doing their works properly and for that matter the right thing.

The reshuffle, dismissal, or vacation of duties should be diverted to the Ghana Embassy in London in particular, hence this information.

This is not because His Excellency Papa Owusu-Ankomah is not doing his job well. In fact he has done very well in the dispensation of his ambassadorial duties.

The Head of Trade and Investment is also doing a good job as usual with his friendly approach.

But the crux of the matter and the problem of the embassy, is a certain lady who is either Mr Kofi Addo's personal secretary or his personal receptionist who picks his phone calls.

In fact, with all due respect that lady needs to go back and learn how to work within the circles of diplomats. Because it seems she has not got a clue as to how to talk to people.

At the Ghana Tourism Summit which was held in the UK not too long ago,Ghanaian citizens who attended the summit were advised by His Excellency Papa Owusu Ankomah to put their shoulders to the wheel, in order to make the Ghana Tourism Industry work.

Upon this initiative, I personally approached Mr Kofi Addo for his detailed contacts for an official conversation, which he obliged.

I took it upon myself to call his number several times but to no answer. I later got a call back and was so happy and thought it was him who was calling back.

To my utter surprise, I heard this lady asking me if I was Mr 'so, so and so' and I replied no.

As I was about to tell her who I was the lady banged and hanged the phone on me.

I called back but she would not pick up the phone. So through my search, I got told that I have to book an appointment which I was trying to do in the first place anyway.

I got to the embassy on Tuesday 7th of August. I showed the receptionist at the gate who I was and my mission there.

He told me to wait for some time and later called this same lady and told her of my mission. The lady asked who I was and the reason why I want to see Mr Addo, which I did.

She later told me that Mr Addo is on holiday and would be back in September so I should book an appointment, which I did.

In booking the appointment, she asked of my full name, email address and number. She told me she would send me some dates to choose for my appointment later.

Since then, I have been waiting for this email and just do not know when it will be in my mail box.

My believe is that she is either doing a selective application of appointments. Or rather incompetent, lazy or ignorant and for that matter needs to go back to Ghana and learn some more.

Because with such attitude, this lady would be blocking the progress of Ghana through her dealings with people. Who knows how many people she has done this to.

To this I say, some heads need to roll at the Ghana Embassy UK, before more 'casualties' are found.

Do not forget you are paid by Ghanaians to serve them but not to disrespect them through that position of yours.

There are so many people who can do that job properly and better than you are doing.

Only God knows how you got to that post. Just remember that before you got that job, there was somebody and after you, there would be better people to deliver what Ghana needs.
