Former Member of Parliament for Elembele East and Acting National Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Freddie Blay, has been overwhelmingly endorsed by the executives and members of the party in the Northern Region.

Unanimously, the leadership of the party in the Northern Region, led by its forerunner, Chairman Samba, threw their weight behind the Acting National Chairman, calling on delegates across the country to give him (Mr Blay) the nod to lead the party at the national level.

Describing him as the 'Messiah', the NPP Northern regional executives praised Mr Blay for his tireless efforts to secure victory for the party in the 2016 general elections which saw the then ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) losing massively.

According to them, Chairman Blay is affable, reliable and above all, he has the party at heart. These are qualities which make him the best and only person to be entrusted with the duty of manning the affairs of the party at the national level.

The Northern regional secretary of the NPP, Lawyer Sulley Sambian, told DAILY GUIDE that Chairman Blay came in as acting chairman at the time the party was in turmoil.

He noted that the hardworking acting chairman had been tried and tested and so he should be given the chance.

Lawyer SulleySambian called on delegates to vote for Mr. Blay to continue the good work he has started in order to retain the party in 2020.

The communication director of the NPP in the Northern Region, Mr. Issah Mohammed, said the entire regional executives decided to endorse Chairman Blay because of his industry and determination to move the party in the right direction.

According to him, the regional executives will continue to campaign for Mr Blay until the voting day.

He ended his tour of the Northern Region in Walewale, where he interacted with constituency executives from Bunkpurugu, Nalerigu-Gambaga, Yunyoo, Yagaba-Kubori and Walewale constituencies.

Earlier, he visited Damongo and interacted with party executives from Yapei-Kusawgu, Daboya-Mankarigu, Damongo, Sawla-Tuna-Kalba and Bole-Bamboi constituencies. Also, he held separate meetings with the party's regional communications team and TESCON president in the region.
