Accra, July 13, GNA - The Abeka District Court will on July 26, deliver judgment in the Marwako assault case.

At Thursday's sitting, the accused told the Court that his counsel was out of the jurisdiction and prayed for an adjournment.

The Court, presided over by Mrs Victoria A. Ghansah, told the accused to inform his counsel that on the next adjourned date, the Court would deliver judgement, hence he should file his addresses before that date.

Jihad Chaaban, a Supervisor at the Marwako Restaurant, on February 28, this year, allegedly grabbed the neck of Evelyn Boakye angrily and dipped her face into a full jar of blended pepper.

He reportedly accused her of fidgeting with the blender and working slowly.

Ms Boakye was an employee at the Abelenkpe Branch of Marwako Restaurant.

Chaaban has been charged with offensive conduct by calling the victim a prostitute and intentionally and unlawfully causing harm and assault.

Chaaban has, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges and he is on bail.
