Zoe's Ghana Kitchen played host to its maiden cook book launch at The Sun & 13 cantons in London's Soho district, recently to a thunderous and welcoming party from Zoe and her management to their numerous attending patrons.

The party started with, oh no did I say party!!?
Well, the cat is already out of its bag. The book launch, the party or the book-launch-party started with a socialization session bursting and boasting of a free bar. Yes. You heard it right. Free flowing drinks.

And that means, variety of our choices from Star Beer, assorted vintage wines, gin and the extra tonic, vodka and many other beverages. Sorry you we not there, you knew where you were, so no worries. Next time.

Remarkably draping in the iconic and favourite Ghanaian Kente cloth, and oozing along most of the traditional Ghanaian recipes, remixed for the modern kitchen, your guessed sentence could be reading right, if you say, Zoe's cook book is kitchen-ready.

Zoe's Ghana Kitchen and its literature is born and launched to a grand applause, awe and envy of other cook books, from the look of the book and the 'artificial' aroma scenting from its centre-spreads.

This literally means, we are deliciously talking about the 'Kontomire', 'Agushie', 'Aboboi' and the rest that are all gushing to be eaten.

It is an encyclopedic cook book that guides you through different flavours of food and recipes of Ghanaian dishes, taking you on a food flight of fancy from various regions across its mainland to the capital Accra, Ghana. Yes. And that is the power and aroma of Zoe's cook book.

Before long, you would arguably have to have some good old hunger, desire and fire in your hungry belly to really want to cook some Ghanaian food especially in Europe, be it your favourite or your darling's choices.

These are due to challenges like, the lack of cooking knowledge coupled with the vast amount of several supplies of food stalls and restaurants up and down our streets, vending us out of our 'daily bread'.

Well, time is up now. This is where Zoe's Kitchen comes your way in aiding, by telling you exactly how it is done instead of go buying as usual.

Plucking her out from her busy meetings and greetings sessions for the ideologies behind her book, under one breadth she said : “Zoe's Ghana Kitchen is about my love and passion for spreading the news basically, about the amazing flavours and ingredients that come out of west Africa, in this particular instance, Ghana my shared heritage.”

Telling the missions and history behind her book, Zoe implied: “As I am part Irish and part Ghanaian, this food has been a way for me to connect with my ancestors, my heritage and my dad's family who were not in London during my childhood.

“And I shared that with people when I was growing up, and I have been lucky enough to turn that into a great business, where I have a restaurant, super clubs and event catering.”

Delving deeper into the secrecy of her kitchen she explains, “It's just about spreading the love of food because people walk past these ingredients, without knowing what to do with them.

“And I think food is really an interesting and vital way to introduce people to other cultures. And for me this is what the journey is all about. Introducing as many people as possible to these ingredients and flavours while getting them cooking regularly at home than dining out and just spreading the love for food and cuisine from across Africa and where we come from.”

Zoe's Ghana Kitchen has made it easier by simplifying what to cook and how to do it. If only 'It Ghana be Tasty' as her slogan says, then it got to be Zoe's Ghana Kitchen cook book.

As there are always some speculations as to whether we can cook as fantastically as we sometimes criticise, the food we eat, and those who cook or prepare them. This is where the real test begins.

Where do you cook? The reason behind this question is that, some cook in their kitchens while others cook in their heads, and that is called 'mind cooking'.

And as with everything, you have to dream of it first in your head, before its realization. So good on you if you normally cook in your head.

As we sometimes know, too much of everything is bad. So stop cooking in your small, medium or big head and take your 'mind cooking' practically to the kitchen.

Do not go salivating over food in other people's kitchens. Grab yourself the latest cook-book in town, making rounds in Amazon for a cool twenty five queen's sterling, pounds that is.

And even If you already know how to cook, but might want to still upgrade your taste tubes, you can get involve with Zoe's trending kitchen cook book, and your friends will no more doubt your kitchen skills any longer.

You either pay rent as a tenant or mortgage as a landlord or lady, so why don't you use your kitchen to the best of your cooking abilities, by inviting friends and showing off practically with your knowledge and kitchen techniques from Zoe's cook book.

Charity they say begins at home. And if that adage, dictum or saying has ever been credible, then you would have to horn your cooking skills homely, from your kitchen.

The book has even got a feature compilation of some authentic Ghanaian songs that you can cook along with, while reading and learning about recipes, ingredients and her personal experiences during her stay in motherland Ghana. Mind you, her mum is Irish.

When asked to donate one of her books to the Ashanti Library in Kumasi, Zoe quickly showed her benevolence by signing one with a love message that reads 'So much love and respect for Ghanaian food and flavours'.

Stopping her for the three words that most encapsulate her cook book, Zoe went further to her kitchen slogan saying: “ 'It Ghana Be Tasty'.”

By making the beauty and flavours of Ghanaian dishes accessible to any food fanatic abroad in an encyclopedic way, Zoe is really and truly 'Kitchening it'.
