NPP Elect a unifier on Saturday - group counsels NPP delegates
OCT 16, 2014 LISTEN

Dr. Kwabena Boadu, President of Campus Frontliners-KNUST, has advised NPP delegates to elect a person with the competency to unite the party in its presidential primary.

Over 140,000 party delegates would be casting their ballots on October 18 to elect one of the three aspirants to lead the part into the 2016 general elections.

Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Francis Addai Nimo and John Kwadwo Kyerematen are ending their respective campaigns across the country to get the nod, today.

“All the three candidates that have presented themselves to want to lead the party are worthy “materials” that can manage the affairs of this country better than we are witnessing today under President Mahama,” Dr. Kwabena Boadu observed in a statement issued on behalf of the group.

He reminded delegates: “The untold hardships the NDC government is taking the Ghanaian through put a lot of pressure and expectations on us as a party, and we cannot betray this expectation.

“As intellectuals in an academic environment, we believe our first major task as a party in order to fulfil this expectation is to peacefully elect a flag bearer who has the competency to unite the rank and file of the party as we journey into 2016. We urge all party members to allow the processes to go on smoothly on the 18 th of October and beyond.”

Wishing the aspirants the best of luck, he entreated them to take control of their supporters and urge them to refrain from any act of divisiveness and antagonism.

“Finally, all the candidates should be mindful that most certainly only one of them would emerge winner, and the losers have an obligation to accept the outcome and throw their full weight behind the winner and the party for that matter. Likewise, whoever emerges the winner has an arduous responsibility of bringing everybody on board the campaign no matter where one belonged,” he prayed.
