Don't Swindle Innocent People

Ebenezer Agyei Baffour, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Treasureland Investment, a transport company operating at Assin Fosu in the Central region, has asked financial institutions in the country not to swindle innocent people.

He said Treasureland SUSU Savings and Loans Micro Finance has no intention of swindling customers, stressing that they would help improve Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), which are the bedrock of the nation's development.

Mr Baffour stated this on Thursday when he opened the company's first Susu Savings and loans office at Nyankomase Ahenkro in the Central region.

Mr. Baffour emphasized the need for people in the area to cultivate the habit of savings.

“Never use all the monies you earn on only funerals and unnecessary ventures at the detriment of your wards future,” he said.

“Africa, especially Ghana, is bedeviled with poverty because we always fail to plan so let's make the new office serve its purpose of reducing poverty in the area by saving in order to access loans for our businesses,” he advised.

The CEO stated that the union will develop into a bank in the next 10 years.

Mr Baffour hinted that hundreds of people in the environs would be employed to reduce unemployment rate in the country.

The General Manager of Treasureland Investment, Emmanuel Baffour, revealed that the transport company, which started with only 10 cars in January 2012, can now boost of 150 registered cars and 70 unregistered cars.

The Abura Dunkwa District Police Commander, DSP Bernard Twum-Berimah called on the public to repay their loans.
