The National Democratic Congress National Organizer, Yaw Boateng Gyan has advised members of the party to stop deepening the seeming rift between the party's leadership and founder Jerry John Rawlings.
This followed a statement issued by the office of Ex-President Rawlings warning persons in the NDC who are attempting to organize a counter event to tarnish this year's June 4 celebration.
The statement said some mischievous persons in the NDC were going round the country telling believers in the ideals of former President Rawlings that they have been mandated to organize this year's May 15 and June 4 events.
Reacting to the statement, the NDC National Organizer said the party was rather planning towards celebrating the NDC's 20th Anniversary.
'The party has clocked two decades and we intend celebrating the 20thAnniversary and that is the main idea behind this celebration; we are not thinking of May 15 or June 4 but we are rather thinking of June 10 and people are just trying to make the whole issue look as if we are sitting here at the party headquarters to draw a counter programme.'
'Even if anything at all we still consider Flt Lt Rawlings as our founder so what counter programme are we drawing, people are trying to draw us apart that is why they are going round making such comments.'
