Adiyiah: I made a mistake in joining AC Milan

By The Statesman

Ghana striker Dominic Adiyiah has said he made a mistake in joining Italian Serie A side AC Milan after moving to the Turkish second division to play for Karyisaka.

Adiyiah starred at the 2009 World Youth Championships and was rated as one of the best prospects in the game, but struggled on loan at Reggina and Partizan Belgrade and has yet to play for the senior Milan side.

Many consider his latest loan to Karyisaka to be a major step down, but Adiyiah insists that he needs to get his head back in the game before he can return to the San Siro.

"For me I must say it [moving to Milan] was a big mistake," he told TV show  OtiAdjei Report . "But as a youngster when a big team like Milan needs you cannot say no. However when you get there and there is no room for you, that is when you have to decide I need to go somewhere and do the right thing and come back."

Former Ghana striker Augustine Arhinful said last month that Adiyiah was dropping too low in his bid to find regular games.

"I think he could have made a better move. Belgium, Denmark and Holland could have been better than a Turkish second division side but all the same it's good. Dede did the same thing Arles in France and he became a better player. Let us hope he does well there," he told Accra-based  Happy FM .
