Residents of Kaasi in a clean-up exercise

Residents of Kaasi in the Kumasi metropolis on Saturday organized a clean-up exercise to help rid the area of filth.

Led by the assemblyman, Mr Charles Oduro Acheampong, they swept the streets, drained choked gutters and cleared refuse.

Speaking to the gathering after the two-hour exercise, Mr Acheampong commended the residents for their turn out.

The assemblyman cautioned that anyone found dumping refuse at unauthorized places would face the full rigours of the law.

Mr Acheampong cautioned residents who rear animals that, if they allow their animals to stray and destroy property and farms, they would be caught and confiscated.

He appealed to the residents to let cleanliness be their hallmark always, to avoid contracting diseases.
