The Evangelical Society of Ghana yesterday held a press conference to congratulate President John Evans Atta Mills and to wish him well in his term of office.
Speaking at the press conference Mr Enoch Agbozo, Leader of the Evangelical Society, said it is the knowledge, obedience of God and loyalty of the people of Ghana that has brought a glorious end to the 2008 elections.
He said this is a platform to covey God's message of comfort peace and hope to the nation and people of Ghana for their prayers and support during the 2008 elections.
Mr Agbozo urged the people of Ghana to trust and stand steadfast by God's word, prophesies and promises concerning the nation in order to bring to pass His promises of peace, security, progress and prosperity to the nation.
He stated that Ghana is a land flowing with milk and honey where the Most High will have the government and the people of Ghana know assuredly that he has set His throne in the country. This is because he has chosen and raised Ghana out of Africa for His dwelling and kingdom of glory on earth.
''The lord has not turned his back on the nation'' Mr Agbozo said. It is Ghanaians who have chosen to exercise their free will to their pleasure and not according to the will and plans of God but the lord will hold Ghana in His hands where no evil shall befall her.
The leader of the evangelical society emphasised that ,though there will be stress, tears and lamentation for a while the good Lord will steer the affairs of the nation in the path of peace and righteousness and in the end proclaim Ghana as a victorious nation.
Mr Agbozo urged the media to assist in conveying the message of comfort, peace and hope from God to the people and friends of Ghana at home and abroad.
