Boniface Saddique: I'll quit if
20.10.2008 LISTEN

Convinced about his chances of recapturing his parliamentary seat based on his impeccable social and political credentials, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Salaga and the Minister of Water Resources, Works and Housing, Hon. Abubakar Saddique Boniface, last weekend taunted opponents in the National Democratic Congress and other parties challenging him, saying he is fully prepared to step aside if another person better than him comes up for the same position.

Hon. Boniface, who is seeking re-election to Parliament on the ticket of the NPP, told a large NPP crowd that had gathered at the famous Salaga Slave Market in Salaga, Northern Region to rally support for him, that the NPP will retain the Salaga seat for good because the party keeps on nurturing new ideas aside of his competence in running the constituency.

According to Hon. Boniface, who was addressing the NPP teeming thousands of sympathisers and faithful at the launching of his campaign, their huge presence at the occasion was a clear manifestation of acceptance and victory for him in the upcoming elections.

He said; "My brothers and sisters, this is clear. We need nobody to tell us victory is on our side at this hour. I wish today was the elections day, for us all to see the massive victory that will come the way of the NPP."

According to him, all mathematical calculations point to the fact that the NPP is in the lead, and will definitely clinch political power in this year's elections. He also stated that the NDC, aware about this fact is employing all sorts of tricks to disturb the process through wild allegations, none of which they have been able to prove.

Mr. Mohammed Amin Adam, Tamale Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE), dropped a bombshell regarding the political future of the MP, when he said Boniface will soon climb a higher political ladder.

Apparently, based on his unsullied social, education and political credentials, Amin Adam hinted that a Presidential candidate will soon emerge from the Northern Region, who will be nobody other than Boniface. He said the MP's achievements in social and political lives were simply unbeatable.

Addressing the massive crowd of NPP faithful, defectors and supporters, all clad in the party colours, the Tamale MCE warned the NPP supporters not to do anything to undermine and derail the political fortunes of Hon. Boniface, saying that "when you cut him away, you have cut the whole Northern Region away."

According to him, God will never change the destiny of his people until they themselves decide to change it, adding that since Hon. Boniface was appointed as Minister in the Kufuor-led administration, the Northern Region has experienced massive development, which has particularly benefitted people in the region.

Amin Adam therefore charged the electorates to vote massively for Hon. Boniface, due to his record in helping massively to develop the region and bring relief to the people.

The water situation, according to him, has drastically improved in the Northern Region because of his influence and competence.

Describing the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) as a desperate party made up of desperate people, the Tamale MCE said the ruling NPP is one family, which should preserve its unity in order to win the Presidential and parliamentary elections in December 7.

He said although the NDC is preaching about political chaos in the upcoming elections, the NPP Government will ensure peaceful and fair elections.
