Spokesperson for the 2028 New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, has cautioned that the opposition party will no longer tolerate attacks on its flagbearer.
He said the party is prepared to respond to what he described as unprovoked attacks, stressing that its communicators have been directed to defend the party’s leadership.
Speaking on Accra-based Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana on Tuesday, May 5, Miracles Aboagye said while the party remains committed to issue-based campaigning, it will not hesitate to respond when provoked.
“The new NPP, we are different… if you come for us, we will come for you,” he said.
He noted that party members have been cautioned against initiating attacks but have been given the green light to respond firmly when their leaders are targeted.
The 2024 NPP presidential campaign spokesperson stressed that the directive applies across the party’s communication machinery and grassroots supporters.
“Starting from this month of May, you will not have it easy… all our communicators, our activists and our party people have our explicit permission to go for anybody that comes after our flagbearer,” he stated.
He stressed that the party’s core focus remains policy-based engagement but warned that it would resist any attempts to undermine its leadership through personal attacks.

Miracles Aboagye, you always tackle problems the wrong way. There are indeed several attacks on Bawumia on social media and from other sources. The question is what has led to the explosion of attacks on Bawumia? You see, Ghanaians are tired of the NPP's lies. There is much false information circulating on social media, such as "Bawumia bought all the new transformers to replace the burnt Akosombo transformers." "Why do you have to choose the incompetent Mahama over Bawumia?&qu...
