Mr Afenyo Markin and his minority lieutenants must give Ghanaians the utmost respect. The electorates did not elect them to parliament to rowdy and disrespectful.
Afenyo Markin must be reminded that Mr JH Mensah led Minority performed their legislative functions with utmost diligence and respect to the electorates
Mr Afenyo Markin must know that the quality of the Minority bench in 1996 were fully mature individuals who knew the reason and responsibilities Ghanaians reposed on them and they executed it to the admiration of all.
Therefore it would be appropriate for Afenyo Markin and his lieutenants to be humble, if they wanted Ghanaians to take them very seriously. They must go back and watch the craft their predecessors exhibited during those beautiful dialogue in parliament.
It is highly unconscionable for the minority members of parliament to defend that despicable conduct at the vetting committee, instead of them apologizing to Ghanaians, and show remorse. They rather chose to provoked well meaning Ghanaians by branding themselves as the mighty few.
The contradiction displayed by Afenyo Markin after the friday morning press conference, where he chose to attack some of the nominees that came before them, and the scathing attack on the lady clerk of the appointment committee for non professionalism, and also the assurance to the whole world that they would not boycott nor walkout from parliament.
Sadly on the same day they did similar things they accused the subjects that they attacked and walked out from the appointment committee without receiving express directive from the Speaker in writing. That conduct exposed the hidden agenda against Mr Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa by wanting to frustrate his vetting process.
The New Patriotic Party must be worried about the conduct of Afenyo Markin and his lieutenants by further dragging the remaining reputation of party into the mud.
