Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, running mate to 2024 NDC flagbearer John Mahama has donated items to support Central Regional Muslim Council's preparations for the Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations.

The former Education Minister visited the Central Mosque in Cape Coast on Tuesday to hand over the donations.

In an X post about the visit, Prof Opoku-Agyemang said "I had the privilege of visiting the Central Regional Muslim Council at the Central Mosque in Cape Coast to donate some items in preparation for the Eid-ul-Fitr celebration."

Eid-ul-Fitr, which marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan, is an important occasion where Muslims express gratitude, engage in acts of charity and strengthen community ties.

"This sacred time of reflection and giving back to the community holds immense significance, and I am deeply grateful for the chance to stand alongside our fellow citizens during this blessed month," Prof Opoku-Agyemang noted.

She encouraged unity and generosity as key virtues to positively impact lives.

“Let's unite in solidarity and generosity as we endeavor to create a positive impact in the lives of others. Eid Mubarak in advance to all our Muslim friends!"

The donations from the NDC vice presidential candidate are expected to support the central mosque's efforts in organizing communal Eid prayers and activities to foster brotherhood during the celebration.
