Majority Leader of Parliament, Hon. Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin, has issued a warning to District Chief Executives (DCEs) and Municipal Chief Executives (MCEs) to limit or stop attending conferences and workshops.
Speaking on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo' morning show, the Afenyo-Markin who doubles as Member of Parliament for Effutu constituency emphasized the need for DCEs and MCEs to prioritize grassroots work.
He indicated that more effort is needed at the grassroots level to push the agenda of the party to break the eight.
According to him, frequent engagement in such at the local level could diffuse the propaganda of the LARGEST opposition National Democratic Party (NDC).
"Our District Chief Executives (DCEs) should refrain from attending too many workshops and conferences.
“I have already warned my DCE that I will terminate his employment if he continues to attend these events frequently.
“As a representative of the President, you are supposed to be working at the grassroots level. Otherwise, propaganda may infiltrate," Afenyo-Markin stated.
