The Member of Parliament (MP) for Garu, Albert Alalzuuga Akuka, and MP for Tempane, Lydia Akanvariba Adakudugu have condemned the operation conducted by the National Security and the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) in their respective Constituencies.

The Ministry of National Security and the Ghana Armed Forces, on Saturday, October 28, conducted a joint operation in Garu and Tempane to seize weapons used by perpetrators in the attack on some National Security personnel.

The operation resulted in the brutalisation of many residents with several others arrested.

In a press release from the National Security over the weekend, it explained that the joint operation was conducted on the back of an attack by an irate youth group on some National Security personnel on Tuesday, October 24.

Disturbed by the brutalities on innocent citizens in their constituencies, the MPs for Garu and Tempane have stressed that the lawlessness and brutalities inflicted on innocent citizens should stop

In a joint statement, Albert Alalzuuga Akuka and Lydia Akanvariba Adakudugu also demand that those injured during the military disturbances should be taken care off and compensated by the Government/Ministry of Defence.

Meanwhile, the MPs for Garu and Tempane are urging their constituents to remain calm and peaceful during this challenging time.

They also call for transparency, accountability, and open communication to address this issue.
