A Voluntary HIV Counselling and testing (VCT) was last Thursday organised for residents of Korle Wonko in the Ashiedu Keteke Sub-district in Accra.

It was organised by a non-governmental organisation Integrated Development in Focus (IDIF) with the aim of encouraging residents to know their HIV status in order to lead responsible lives.

A total of 70 people made up of 40 females and 30 males including an 82 years old man take advantage of the free VCT exercise.

The free VCT which had the theme; know your status — the time is now, formed part of the IDIF Advocacy Campaign aimed at reducing HIV spread among the population in its catchment area.

The Member of Parliament for Odododiodioo, Mr. Jonathan Tackie-Komme commended the organi-sers for the exercise and urged the residents to be faithful to each other for those who are married since HIV/AIDS was real and had come to stay.
