His Royal Majesty Otumfour Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene has celebrated Akwasidae with some of the world dignitaries and hundreds of Ghanaians at his residence in Maryland (USA) last Sunday, the 8th of August 2021.
Otumfour Osei Tutu II noted that Ghanaians in the diaspora should do well to trace their roots by way of living in accordance with the dictates of their traditions and cultural beliefs.
Clad in a beautiful blue and white nicely decorated and designed Kente cloth, the revered King expressed his profound gratitude to all the invitees for joining him to celebrate the Akwasidae in a very grand style.
I am happy to see my people in such a great mood today of dancing the traditional Adowa and this demonstrates to the fact that you haven't forgotten about your history and most importantly our well celebrated tradition and culture
The occupant of the Golden Stool advised his subjects who live in the diaspora especially those in the United States of America to be law abiding in whatever they seek to undertake at their various places of work and residence.

Otumfour Osei Tutu II whiles speaking at the colorful Akwasidae ceremony, entreated all Ghanaians and most especially Ashantis in the diaspora to uphold the great traditions and endowed cultural beliefs of their respective origins. He cautioned the elderly and all parents to counsel their wards to embrace the most respected Ghanaian culture and traditions whiles they still live abroad.
Akwasidae is celebrated at the quarter of the first Sunday of the month.
On their part, Mrs. Martha Pobee who is formerly the Ghanaian ambassador to the UN, His Excellency Kobee Komoson US former ambassador to Ghana, Aisha Braveboy the State Attorney for Prince George's County, Maryland, and Ghana's current Ambassador to the USA, Her excellency Hajia Alima Mahama were also at the function to grace the well-attended Asantehene's Akwasidae celebration.
Oheneba Boachie Agyei Woahene II, Nana Osei Kwadwo - Mamesenhene, Nana Otimpie Aben - Otumfour's Saasamohene, Nana Yaw Atta Kyeremanteng - Bebrehene, Nana Gyedu Kumaning Amakye - Brae Hene, Nana Yaa Asantewaa - Paramount Queen Mother of Ejisu traditional area, Nana Ama Afrakoma - Queen Mother of Agogo traditional area and a host of otherp eople from the various royal families were there in their numbers to showcase the rich traditional and cultural heritage of Asanteman.
